Useful Sites
Below are a selection of useful websites, that I've used in helping me to develop my own websites. Click on the title and you will be taken to the homepage of the site.
WebMonkey

WebMonkey claims to be the Web Developers' resource - well I certainly can't argue with that. It provides tutorials on how to get started with most of the technology you will need to develop decent websites. But there is also lots more useful information on this site - don't miss it.

CSS Zen Garden

Cascading Style Sheet. A Specification for the presentation of html marked documents.Cascading style sheets work like a template, allowing Web developers to define a style for an HTML element and then apply it to as many Web pages as they'd like. With CSS, when you want to make a change, you simply change the style, and that element is updated automatically wherever it appears within the site. This site provides numerous examples of what can be accomplished visually through CSS-based design. View and select from a whole range of different designs then start doing your own designs using CSS.

PHP Resource

PHP is a server-side, cross-platform, HTML embedded scripting language that lets you create dynamic web pages. PHP-enabled web pages are treated just like regular HTML pages and you can create and edit them the same way you normally create regular HTML pages. This site is a great source of complete scripts, which enable you to do the key tasks that support your site, or example snippets of coding.

Perl Resource

Practical Extraction and Reporting Language is an open source server side programming language extensively used for web scripts and to process data passed via the Common Gateway Interface from HTML forms etc. Perl scripts are not embedded within HTML pages and do not download to the web browser but reside on the server. They execute by being triggered from commands within HTML pages or other scripts and may produce HTML output that does download to the web browser. Often used for things like form processing or database access, PERL is a great way to make your website interactive. This site is a great source of complete scripts, which enable you to do the key tasks that support your site, or example snippets of coding.

JavaScript Resource

JavaScript is a scripting language developed by Netscape to enable Web authors to design interactive sites. Although it shares many of the features and structures of the full Java language, it was developed independently. Javascript can interact with HTML source code, enabling Web authors to spice up their sites with dynamic content. JavaScript is endorsed by a number of software companies and is an open language that anyone can use without purchasing a license. It is supported by most browsers including those from Netscape and Microsoft. This language enables you to do clever things on the client side i.e. in the user's browser. This site claims to provide the definitive resource for complete scripts or advice on using Javascript. Great for learning the tricks of the trade.
